ABARES First forecast of Australian Canola crop

ABARES released in June first forecast of Australian 2022-23 winter crops production and area. Forecast for total crop acreage of 23.42 million hectares is second highest and total production of 50.85 MMT is fourth highest in the decade.

According to the report, the country’s Canola acreage forecast of 3.43 million hectares, had increased 29% from last 10 year’s average and production forecast of 5.60 MMT had increased 47% from the same. Also this is 11.6% higher than 2021-22 acreage of 3.08 million hectares and 14% less that 2021-22 production of 6.50 MMT.
