This marked a substantial 24% increase compared to the same period in the previous year, as revealed by customs data. Notably, the cargoes that faced delays due to strict regulations implemented the previous month were eventually unloaded at ports, contributing to this significant achievement.

Furthermore, China's total soybean imports during the first five months of 2023 amounted to 42.30 million tonnes, showcasing a notable 11% growth compared to the same period in the previous year. This demonstrates a sustained upward trend in the country's soybean import volume for the year.
