The EU-27 significantly boosted its pea exports in 2024

The EU-27 significantly boosted its pea exports in 2024, with volumes increasing by 38% and 56% compared to the previous two years. By October 2024, the EU-27 had exported 314 KMT of peas, up from 227 KMT in 2023 and 201 KMT in 2022.

India emerged as the largest importer of EU peas, with 109 KMT, followed by Norway at 105 KMT and the U.K. with 23 KMT. This export growth reflects the EU’s strengthening position in the global pea trade.

The EU-27’s total pea production stands at 2.1 MMT, with France, Germany and Spain leading as the top producers.
