On the 5th of July, 2022, Statistics Canada released Field crops areas for 2022. Canadian wheat seeding hit 9 year high at 25.56 million acres in 2022. If realized, this will be the largest wheat-seeded area in the country since 2013.

Canada is one of the major exporters of wheat globally. Canada faced a drought the previous year and expects to make up for some global wheat shortages in the Current MY.
