On October 28, 2022, according to the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Indian farmers planted 8.82 lakh hectares areas of rabi pulses, up by 48.7% from 5.93 lakh hectares same time last year.
Under the pulses, Chickpeas have been sown on 6.96 lakh hectares areas, up by 68.9% from last year. Lentils in 0.38 lakh hectares, up by 46.2%, from last year, and Peas in 0.31 lakh hectares.
