In May 2023, Australia achieved a historic record in lentil exports, according to Australian customs data. The country witnessed a remarkable increase, with exports reaching 265 KMT, marking a substantial growth of 65.75% compared to the previous month and an impressive surge of 189.82% compared to the same period last year. This trend indicates a robust performance in lentil exports throughout the marketing year (October to September) in Australia, showcasing significant improvement. From October to May, the total lentil exports amounted to 1,152 KMT, reflecting an 82% surge compared to the same period in the previous marketing year. Our projections indicate that Australian lentil exports during the 2022-23 marketing year will reach approximately 1,450 KMT.
