The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare of India released the first advance estimates for 2022-23 Kharif crop production figures on 21st September 2022. As per the first advance estimates, the Kharif crop's total foodgrain production is estimated at 149.92 million tons for 2022-23.

Total Kharif pulses production is estimated at 8.37 million tons.

Under the Kharif pulses production for 2022-23, Tur and urad production are estimated at 10% and 5% less than the previous year respectively whereas Moong production is estimated at 18% more than the last year. Other Kharif pulses production are estimated at 44% more than the last year.
